Doing our bit

Since we started Strawberrysoup, we’ve tried to keep our impact on the environment to a minimum.

We have been in our current energy-efficient studio since 2009. It helps us be kinder to the environment in a number of ways. For example, we use water from an underground rainwater tank, part of a local Sustainable Drainage System (SUDS).

Electricity and recycling

Each of our offices is open-plan, so we use natural daylight as much as possible, reducing our energy consumption. The lights in our meeting and conference rooms use low energy compact fluorescent tubes.

Obviously, we use computers every day. So we ensure that all our desktop systems are switched off every evening to minimise our carbon emissions where possible.

The minimal waste we do create, we recycle – and we try our best to achieve a 'paperless office' environment.

Transport

We’re just a minute's walk from Southbourne train station on the main line between Brighton – Southampton, and London Victoria –Chichester/Portsmouth Harbour. So the team frequently travels to work and business meetings by public transport, and we encourage visiting clients to do the same. We also aim to use tele-conferences wherever appropriate.

The future

Strawberrysoup is always looking at how to do business in more environmentally friendly ways. If there are greener ways of working, we’ll do our best to incorporate them into what we do.
