Strawberrysoup and the Environment

We know that the way we live and work effects the environment and since we started Strawberrysoup, we have tried to be as environmentally friendly as possible.

In May 2008, we moved into our new offices. This modern, energy efficient building allows us to help the environment in a number of ways.

We use water collected via an underground rainwater tank, ensuring surface runoff from the car park and surrounding paved areas is harvested in accordance with a local Sustainable Drainage System (SUDS).

Electricity & Recycling

We designed our office to be open plan, ensuring natural daylight is utilised as much as possible - therefore resulting in a significant reduction in mains lighting. Lamps that are used in the primary meeting room and conference room are all low energy compact fluorescents.

Obviously due to the nature of what we do, we use computers throughout the day. We ensure that all desktop based systems are switched off each evening to try to minimise our carbon emissions as much as possible.

We recycle the minimal waste we create, such as paper and card, although we try our best to work in a 'paperless office' environment.

Transport

Thanks to the office's great location of being 1 minute's walk from Southbourne train station - on the main line links between Brighton - Southampton and London Victoria-Chichester/Portsmouth Harbour - our team find it easy to travel to work by train and use public transport for business meetings. When tele-conferences are not appropriate for the meeting in hand, the office's location makes it easy for clients to visit us by rail, or for us to come to you by train.

The Future

We are always looking at new ways to keep our business as eco-friendly as possible and are looking forward to implementing some new and exciting methods in the future.
