XPAND Grant in Dorset

The programme provides advice, support and funding to Small and Medium Enterprises (SME’s) based within Dorset, particularly small to micro companies; the programme offers the opportunity of improving their business performance by deploying e-business processes. Support can be sought for a wide variety of technologies provided they help businesses improve. These can include gaining or improving a web presence, revitalising technology to make use of remote working.

Business Link Wessex in conjunction with the Dorset Broadband Partnership supported by South West Regional Development Agency can offer funding towards a small company’s hardware, software or web design costs when adopting the technology for the first time, or making better use of technology. The funding will be for up to 50% of the eligible costs up to a total grant of £2,500.

Only one award per company is permitted per financial year (April to March) provided you do not exceed state aid rules. Please see page 5 of these notes.

Who is eligible for an XPAND grant?

A business is eligible to apply for XPAND funding if it is an enterprise* operating in the United Kingdom counties of Dorset, and
