Business Description

Mike and Ike is an established US brand of confectionary that has been around since the 1940’s. Throughout the years, Just Born expanded its candy production with different flavours. International demand for MIKE AND IKE® products has led Just Born, Inc. to export its MIKE AND IKE® products to more than 50 export markets, including China, South Africa, Australia, Germany, and the Caribbean.

Project Description

We were invited to tender for the MIKE AND IKE® project and bring forward some new and creative ideas for their UK web presence. This was a very exciting project as MIKE AND IKE® basically gave us a blank space to work from.

In terms of the functionality that they required the plan is for the website to be rolled out over the next 3 or so years. The initial functionality included displaying product information, nutritional information, allowing users to signup for newsletters and also download screensavers and desktops.

Solution

We were chosen by MIKE AND IKE® due to the fact that they liked our pitch, but also as they saw the work we had done previously and because we fitted into the target market of the product – which meant that we could bring ideas/creativity to the table from an end user perspective too.

We came up with the idea of focusing the site around the primary audience of the product, and including character profiles of the consumers that would like MIKE AND IKE® sweets.

The website was created following the latest accessibility guidelines and we created all of the graphics/screensavers/desktops in-house. We also used JavaScript and Flash to make the website look more user friendly and animated.

Result

The website now ties in with all online and offline marketing that MIKE AND IKE® are currently working on. The website mainly acts as a portal for potential and current customers to find more out about the brand, what it is doing over the coming months and enter competitions in the future.
