Partnerships for Older People Project

Business Description

The Partnerships for Older People Project (POPP) is a nationally run pilot scheme funded by the Department of Health. The project is designed to test different ways to help older people to maintain their health, wellbeing and independence throughout older age. The projects aims to work with older people to check the general state of health and wellbeing, help identify what may benefit you as an older person, enable older people to make any changes, let older people know what resources may be useful to them, help older people to get services that they may need and finally provide assistance to older people to access practical and emotional support.

Project Description

Strawberrysoup were asked to pitch for the design and build of 7 POPP network websites to cover the following areas: -

We were given the logo and were asked to design 7 websites using the colours already allocated. This project was one of the first that required a role out of a number of websites over a short period of time. Each site required identical functionality including full content management, integrated intranet area and seamless IFrame integration into an external dataset. This dataset integration can be seen working on the 'GROUPS' areas of each of the websites.

The websites have been build in a centralised format to ensure that further developments can be implemented in one place but used on multiple websites. This method of development enables the client to improve and evolve their online presence at a more affordable price.

Solution

The websites use our StrawberrySystem bespoke CMS and contains a number custom features and modules to meet the clients needs. These are described in more detail above. The websites have been built with browser interoperability and accessibility in mind to ensure users on different browser platforms and with disabilities can navigate and use the site effectively.

Due to the number of websites and users of those sites, Strawberrysoup developed a bespoke user management module to allow administrators to grant / deny access to users with different access privileges. All amends, update and changes are also tracked to ensure they can be traced.

The client is happy with the outcome of their sites and looks forward to developing them in the future as the POPP project evolves.
