Rival Joustas

Business Description

A new band on the music scene, managed by the music label Protest in London, Rival Jousters are now moving onto their second single release. Their first single, which was released over three months ago, required a small online presence to support the launch of the band onto the market.

Project Description

We were approached to do a simple build based around previously supplied design work. Our aim was to build one simple home page that replicated the design work online in the closest way possible. The website was to be built in a number of stages, starting out with one holding page and then moving onto some more advanced functionality including music downloads, dynamic gig timetables and promotional downloads to keep fans coming back to the site.

Solution

The website is currently a static holding page promoting the bands first single. Designed in his spare time, Morgan Williams supplied us with the design work to be built using XHTML and CSS. Due to time constraints, the website was built to direct fans to a number of specific locations on the Internet to allow them to listen to the single (MySpace), watch the music video (YouTube) and purchase the single online (ITunes). With the future development of the band and the website, they were keen to store as many email addresses as possible in order to promote new functionality as and when it was developed. A simple PHP script was used to implement this requirement.

Result

The band is becoming well known on the music scene with the website gently supporting their progress. With many online facilities out their including MySpace and other online databases of music artists, the advantages of having your own website is becoming more a apparent to prove your commitment within the market.
