Salisbury Vision

Business Description

Salisbury Vision is the project name of a renewal and regeneration programme which is run by Wiltshire Council. This programme contains a series of plans and improvements for Salisbury City Centre that are planned for the next 20 years.

Project Description

We were approached by Salisbury District Council (who are now Wiltshire Council) to work alongside the Salisbury Vision team. Our role would be to act as consultants through the website project and design, suggest new functionality and develop the new Salisbury Vision website.

The Salisbury Vision team wanted to have the ability to maintain their new website in-house, so a content management system was a necessity. It was also identified that accessibility and usability was very important, as the end result had to cater for a wide and varied audience.

Solution

We chose to focus on the usability of this website in detail. There is quite a lot of information displayed, so choosing a format where it can be logically and intuitively laid out was very important.

We implemented our custom built Content Management System (Strawberrysystem CMS) which gives Salisbury Vision the ability to add, edit and remove pages, gallery images and blog entries.

The feedback to date for this project has been fantastic. Local residents now use this website to find out what improvements and plans are scheduled for their city and to get in touch with the team to suggest/comment on any of the planned work.
