West Sussex Social Enterprise Network (WSSEN)

Business Description

WSSEN is a government organisation which seeks to identify all social enterprises across West Sussex and support them to help raise the profile of social enterprise in the area.

Project Description

With no online presence WSSEN were keen to get their message onto the web thus expanding their exposure. The site itself targets a wide range of web users and the site needed to be simple to use but visually appealing. As a government website the level of accessibility had to be at the highest level (WAI guidelines Priority 3).

A Social Enterprise Directory was needed to allow companies to add their names and find other companies relevant to the Social Enterprise Network.

Solution

The aims of WSSEN can be difficult to grasp therefore they needed a content managed site that allowed them to put as much descriptive text on the site without creating lengthy pages.

The Social Enterprise Directory is very unique so it was built from the ground up and is completely bespoke with an uploader for logos, alphabetical and keyword search.

Result

A clean, modern looking site with the highest accessibility levels and a custom built Business Directory. All content is now managed by WSSEN using our bespoke Strawberry System Content Management Solution.

A fully dynamic news module and a dynamic events module that feeds directly to the homepage to allow users a preview of up and coming events. Once the event date has expired the event disappears automatically.
