Compliant & Accessible Content
Accessibility has become a very important factor in web design recently the final part of the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) came into force on the 1st of October 2004. This new legislation means that if your website is not accessible to all users, then your business could be liable for prosecution.
The World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) have laid out guidelines to help website owners and designers to make their websites more accessible and in line with the new legislation. There are many benefits to following the new W3C guidelines which include
- Your website can be viewed by multiple devices (PC’s, PDAs, mobile phones)
- Your website can be crawled easier by the search engine and could therefore increase your search engine rankings
- You will reach many more customers (including visually impaired users and those with other disabilities)
Our content management system adheres to all of the latest DDA legislation. It dynamically creates pages whenever you need them created using validated XHTML and CSS.
If you wish to see if your current website is accessible, there are a range of different online tools available to help you. Visit http://validator.w3.org/ who have an online XHTML and CSS check to see if you code follows the correct guidelines.
