Going for gold in the design olympics

When the logo for the London 2012 Olympic Games was unveiled way back in 2007, a lot of designers were left with their head in their hands and a feeling of embarrassment that the logo resembling a (ahem) naughty Lisa Simpson was to represent our country while all eyes are on us this summer.

Now that the Games are in full swing and the level of morale and pride is at a giddy height in Great Britain, it’s a great time to take a step back and admire the look of the Olympic Park and the role that design plays the experience of the 2012 Games, where art is standing strongly in the shadow of sport during the events.
