IKEA hacks Instagram to build a social catalogue microsite
A little while ago I wrote about IKEA’s Social Catalogue, where they encouraged consumers to post pictures of the pages of their physical catalogue on Instagram as part of a competition. (Read more here).
This time, the Russian division of the brand has gone a step or two further with using Instagram as a platform to share their catalogue. They’ve hacked the photo-sharing social network by creating tonnes of separate profiles for different products and using the tagging feature on catalogue photos to enable users to click through to each product.
