Our New York trip
At the start of June, myself and our creative director John headed stateside to New York for 4 days to meet with some old friends and hopefully make new ones.
We arrived in NY on Sunday afternoon to be greeted by 32C temperatures which didn’t leave us until a massive thunderstorm on the Thursday evening when we left. It was perfect weather to sample some of New Yorks finest beers.
The trip was booked full of meetings, catchup’s, coffees and dinners with a diverse range of interesting and well-known creatives, photographers, art directors and videographers.
One of our first meetings was at the 66th floor of the Empire State Building and the view was breathtaking. Meeting a well-known fashion brand was really exciting, checking out their lookbooks and discussing how their new collections could be shot, designed and then promoted/marketing online was just up our street.
Having lunch with Droga5, the “Worlds Most Exciting Agency” as quoted by the Guardian was really inspiring. We also caught up with Safari Sundays, a full service agency that are working on some brilliant new campaigns. Their studio is a great place to work too and should be featured on WhereWeDesign.
We would also like to thank Anthony Crook, one of the most talented photographers in New York right now; Jeff Levine and Liz Livett who run a great artists agency; B-Reel who are leading the way in interactive video production; and Miranda Kendrick from Bartle Bogle Hegarty to name but a few that took time out of their busy schedules to say hello and meet us.
All in all, the trip was a great success and we met some truly inspiring and great people. Now we just have to start planning the next trip…
